Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) is proud to announce the publication of “BIMTECH Shodh Gyaan”– a bi-annual management Journal. The publication provides glimpses into a few of the many high quality research activities carried out by the talented authors. The Journal is a compilation of outstanding papers from numerous disciplines submitted by various professors, industrialists and research scholars who have been involved in various research including scholarly and creative activities.
The journal is dedicated to the rapid dissemination of high quality research papers on how advances in various fields of management and technology can help us meet the challenges of the 21st century, and to capitalize on the promises ahead.
We invite original empirical research papers, articles, review papers, executive experience sharing, book reviews and case studies on managerial issues and problems from functional areas of management and Information Technology for publication in our half yearly journal.
The aim of BIMTECH Shodh Gyaan is to create and disseminate knowledge in the global context, which is in line with the second mission of Birla Institute of Management Technology.
Launched in January 2014, this peer-reviewed journal is published bi-annualy. The word Shodh, in Sanskrit, carries a rich repository of meanings: diversity, alternatives, logic, and freedom of choice. The journal seeks to reflect this range of meanings vis-à-vis management research, managerial problem solving, and decision-making in two ways: by adopting a broad understanding of management, viewed from the context of emerging economies including India, and by publishing a mix of research-based academic articles, reflective perspectives, management cases and commentaries, and colloquia.
BIMTECH Shodh Gyaan adopts a broad understanding of management that encompasses the various functional areas within management as well management practice. Thus, the content covered in recent years spans the latest developments in the following:

The role of the editors is to evaluate the suitability of submitted manuscripts for the journal, including: (a) the quality of the manuscript, (b) whether it meets the Aims and Scope of the journal, and (c) the originality of the work. The editors will not disclose information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers or potential reviewers, or other members of the editorial board. Editors will ensure the prompt handling of the review process. Editors will evaluate the merit of manuscripts for intellectual content without regard to race, gender, country of origin, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation.
Peer review is essential to the journal in assisting in making editorial decisions and assisting authors in manuscript improvement. Reviewers should point out relevant publications not cited in the manuscript and point out any similarities with previously published works. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts with conflicts of interest, competitive, financial, or collaborative. If a potential reviewer feels unqualified to review the manuscript, that reviewer should notify the editors immediately and decline the review. Manuscripts received for review will be treated as confidential documents and not shown or discussed with other without authorization from the editors. Authors should expect to receive reviewer reports in a prompt manner, normally within three weeks. Reviewer misconduct (breach of confidentiality, delay of peer review, plagiarism, or conflicts of interest) will not be tolerated.
Authors of original research (not previously published or under consideration for publication elsewhere) should be an accurate presentation of the work carried out, a discussion of the significance of the work in context with previous works, and should contain sufficient experimental detail to allow others to replicate the work. Appropriate citation of previously published works must always be included. Authors should disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that may be construed as influencing the data or interpretation. All sources of financial support should be disclosed. Authorship should be limited to those persons who have made a significant contribution to the work in terms of conception, design, experimental implementation, and data analysis and interpretation. All persons making significant contributions should be included as co-authors. If an author discovers a significant error in the published work, the author is obligated to inform the journal editor in order to either correct or retract the paper.
In cases of proven scientific misconduct, plagiarism, or fraudulent publication, the publisher, in collaboration with the editorial board, will take appropriate action to clarify the situation, publish an erratum, or retract the work in question.
The journal employs the double-blind peer review process, where both reviewers and authors remain anonymous throughout the review process.
Every proposal submitted for publication is read at least by an editor, for an initial review. If the paper agrees with editorial policies and with a minimum quality level, is sent to two reviewers. The reviewers won’t know the author’s identity, as any identifying information will be stripped from the document before review.

Reviewers’ comments to the editors are confidential and before passing on to the author will made anonymous. Based on the reviewers’ comments, the Editorial Board makes a final decision on the acceptability of the manuscript, and communicates to the authors the decision, along with referees’ reports. Whether significant revisions are proposed, acceptance is dependent on whether the author can deal with those satisfactorily.
BIMTECH Shodh Gyaan, primarily addresses people engaged in the practice of management. The mix of research-based articles, reflective perspectives, cases, notes and commentaries, and debate, that BIMTECH Shodh Gyaan carries, aims at communicating management knowledge generated by academic thinking and reflection to practitioners and policy makers in the private, public and governmental sectors. We invite contributions that serve this purpose by communicating new concepts, fresh conclusions from research, lessons from practice, and insights into management excellence. Papers based on theoretical or empirical research should especially emphasize the practical applicability and/or policy implications of the work described. All contributions are peer-reviewed.
BIMTECH Shodh Gyaan encourages authors to include a declaration of any conflicting interests and recommends you review the good practice guidelines on the SAGE Journal Author Gateway.
The manuscript should be accompanied by the following:
specialization, number of books and articles published in refereed journals, and membership on editorial boards and companies, etc.
All tables, charts, and graphs should be in black and not in colour. Wherever necessary, the source should be indicated at the bottom. The number and the complexity of exhibits should be as low as possible. All figures should be indicated in million and billion. Endnotes, italics, and quotation marks should be kept to the minimum.
Authors are expected to adhere to standards of correct academic writing. References should be complete in all respects, with authors’ surnames arranged alphabetically, following conventional citation styles. Review Process Two or more referees review all contributions by following the ‘double blind’ system. There view process usually takes about three months to one year. BIMTECH Shodh Gyaan reserves the right to make editorial amendments to the final draft of the manuscript to suit the journal’s requirements.
